Two Ontario patients who had brain tumours removed in the United States because they say they couldn't get quick treatment here are suing the provincial government over what they claim are unjustly long wait times for medical care.

Lindsay McCreith, 66, of Newmarket and Shona Holmes, 43, of Waterdown filed a joint statement of claim yesterday against the province of Ontario. Both say their health suffered because they are denied the right to access care outside of Ontario's "government-run monopolistic" health-care system. They want to be able to buy private health insurance.

Conservative Bloggers Comments:
OK, it is fact that Michael Moore is fat, and based on many of his other "documentaries" we should all suspect he is a liar as well. At the very least he is criminally biased. I really couldn't pass up my first opportunity to harpoon this whale when I stumbled upon this story out of the Toronto Star. So one of the health care programs that Moore touts as being so superior to ours (the US) has people suing to try and get out of it. It's too comical to even believe. Sure I have waited like everyone at the doctors office or even at the hospital, but not for getting brain tumors removed! Hello....socialized medicine is a HUGE failure. Our system is not perfect, in fact I have written that it needs reform, but lets be real here. It is a fantastic system that needs repair, not dismantling. I think David T. Hardy and Jason Clarke said it best when they titled their 2004 book about him: "Michael Moore is a Big Fat Stupid White Man". You can't get any more to the point of how I feel than that...
