NEW YORK — A conservative media watchdog organization charged Wednesday that the network morning news shows have spent considerably more time this year on Democrats running for president than on Republicans.

Network news executives rejected any suggestion of bias, and said they have a considerably harder time getting Republican candidates to appear on their shows.

Through July 31, the ABC, CBS and NBC morning news shows devoted 284 campaign segments to Democratic candidates and 152 to Republicans, according to the Media Research Center. Another 81 stories discussed both parties or a possible independent run by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

"The double standard has got to stop," said L. Brent Bozell, the group's founder. "What you hope is that there would be fairness. If you are going to give that much coverage to the Democrats, give it to the Republicans, too."

All I can think of is....DUH...!!! Everyone knows (though most Democrats won't admit it) that the media is biased. Study after study has been done both internally at these organizations as well as by groups such as this. What burns me though is that the Democrats have the gall to talk about legislating fairness because they are getting beat to a pulp on the talk radio airwaves. You can't have it both ways. The right response is to do nothing. Let the free ecomony work itself out. If the American people don't want to see or hear biased media then they should stop watching or listening. Government has no business poking their taxpayer bloated nose into this area.

Did that analysis include all the appearances of mostly republicans on the Fox? What is the proportion of Republicans to Democrats on Fox? Why does Fox keep refering to Guliani as Americas Mayor, he isn't my mayor.

While in my opinion Fox is as biased to the right as most other shows are to the left, I believe they were all averaged together. Most media is still by far still leaning to the left (Yes Fox is the obvious exception to that). As for Guliani, I have no idea. You'll have to ask Fox that one. Maybe he will be your President though..:) Thanks for posting.
